New builder from South Jersey

Hello all,
My name is Greg Dickinson and I am living in South Jersey. This will be my first Trailer and I am looking forward to all the challenges. I have no experience building a trailer, but have done some carpentry work on my house and am almost complete my cedar strip kayak build. I am starting with a 5'x10' utility trailer, see picture. I am going to build on top of the side rails instead of cutting them off and building on the deck, Hence the 2'x4' floor constuction. I will enclose the undercarriage with plywood so that I can use it as a 5'x10'x16" storage space for the water tank, batteries, camping and fishing gear. I built the floor of the camper to fit the trailer, ( see picture ). I chose the Lil Diner as my profile and stretched it to 12' 8" to match the deck. I am going to exclude the dinette as I want to use a regular store bought queen size mattress. I made up a full size profile on paper and will use that to make my template. I will add a picture of the profile on smaller paper soon. I am going to make it a woody and glass it like I did my kayak.

I just noticed your sawhorses ... very nice. Do you have a picture where the top part of them isn't hidden?

Welcome!!!! I see you got a good start on your trailer and you know where you are going with it. I have been on here since October lurking and I still am not sure, Hey an I noticed your saw horses too, can we see them? everyone loves lots of pictures. I am bout to start a build thread also. Cool idea using the area between the raid for tanks and stuff. I just ordered our tank from plastic-Mart.com . How high ailments floor of thee tear be from the ground?

Sounds like you have got some great ideas. I am looking forward to following your build. I am also just starting to build mine. The trailer will be here in 2 days, can't wait.
