Flat Screen TV - Mount it? Stow it?

Hey Folks:

First of all, THANK YOU to all of you. I have learned SO MUCH from this forum. Over the winter, I built a 5x8 teardrop that is not anywhere near as nice as most of the ones posted here, but it's good enough for my boys and me. We are very pleased with it. I wish I could figure out how to post photos so I could show you what we've done.

Anyway - one last problem we face. We purchased a nice little 15" flat screen TV that will sit very nicely in our cabinets. We are installing an articulating bracket for the TV so we can adjust the angle of the TV (if they aren't pointed at you just so, the image is not good). The TV works great - gets plenty of channels.

Here's my question: Should I leave this TV on the bracket when we travel, or should I create some way that the TV can be easily un-mounted and stowed elsewhere when the camper is on the move? I can't decide of the constant jarring of the road will ruin the TV if I leave it on the articulating bracket. If so, I can just do what many posters here have recommended - leave it on the bed, wrapped in blankets and pillows.

If you attach the TV to the articulating bracket, draw the bracket up tight, and secure it to the wall with a strap (we use a Velcro strap in our bigger trailer) to limit movement and vibration when in motion. A TV on extended arms will likely come loose, or the whole attachment shake loose.

Flat screens/lcds don't have moving parts so shock (within reason) isn't really an issue

I used industrial strength Velcro to fasten my old one to the shelf. Worked great. My new one is a little bigger and won't fit on the shelf so now I am going to attach it with a small TV wall mount kit. We will see how it works.

Mine is wall mounted, no issues in 7 years and thousands of miles.

We sit our 15" LCD TV on the center shelf (no bracket) and just lay it down on the sleeping bags for travel, it never moves around.
Occasionally we have forgotten to place it on the sleeping bags and find it laying face down on them with no damage.

Ours is on a bracket. We leave it there. No issues in 4 years.
