Running a Honda 2000 on propane

Postby jwhite » Tue May 21, 2013 2:27 pm

Does anyone have any experence with converting a honda 2000 over to run on propane?
I recently had to have my generator tuned up and I ran it this weekend for 2 nights with no problems but on the 3rd day it quite working right.
a buddy of mine said he spent 160.00 and sent his off and had it converted to run on propane but I wonder if I should go that route.
either way I am going to mount it on the front of my trailer so I don't have to drag it out and set it up to run it and put it away?

A quick Google search nets a bunch of links, some Youtube videos, and this: http://uscarb.com/eu2000i.htm

If your load is consistent these propane conversions work fine. But you need I adjust the flow of gas to match the load.

This isn't hard but if you swing between 10 watt and 1500 watt it doesn't work very efficiently.

I have a Yamaha 2400 which is simular to the Honda....

I always check youtube and watched a few but you can't asked questions like you can here.
I thought I would try my honda again now I am home and I couldn't get it to start so I filled the tank on the generator and it cranked right up and is running fine now, it's running my AC just fine.
I am wondering if it has something to do with the extended run tank I have been useing, not sure but it ran perfect alnight for 2 nights?

Extended run tank. Leak? Vacuum needs to be pulled, might you have had a desk that wasn't quite tight?

That's the one thing I miss, my Yamaha can't pull enough vacuum to use extended tanks.
