Welcome to the fun,

I think brakes are a good idea on your trailer.
Between the mountains and the need to stop in a hurry in the big city they are worth every penny.
In a hard stop, every foot counts.

Bought the doors! I guess I'm fully committed now. Found a good deal on ebay I was afraid someone would snatch up. Two doors for $400 versus the $600+shipping all the other ones are at.

Really excited and nervous at the same time. I don't like to take on any projects >$100 for fear of failure.

Still need to figure out whats up with the trailer. I really want brakes but it seems so much more complicated than going with a standard northern tool trailer. Any EASY way to get brakes on? Without building my own custom trailer (what shops would do this anyway?) or tearing apart a junk yard popup?

Guess I gotta start a build thread soon. Oh yeah. And get a plan with some drawings going! Lots of decisions to be made.
