Thanks Pat,
I searched for it on the web and found several links and forum discussions (in addition to your link). While it looks like something to worry about with some strong wind, I think it is nevertheless going on my list of things to add to the CT I am planning on working on. It has has potential (7' model) for covering the cook area I will build in the back using Barn Doors that swing away. It certainly would be lower in cost then adding a "Sunsetter" type awning with drop down sides.

Bob- You are sure right about the costs, the cheapest awning that I could find was still more than twice the price of the cabana, was not enclosed, and did not give me as much space.

We had some serious wind and rain last time I used the cabana, and it seemed to take it all in stride. You can stake it down, and there are also guy-lines which will clip to the sides near the front. The roundness seems to allow the wind to just flow over the cabana, rather than hit the flat wall. I also have barn doors on the back of my CT and have been thinking about installing awning rail on the top of the trailer rear, if I can figure out how to get it to bend easily so that it is flush with the roof (curved roof- causes a lot of frustration when finishing the interior). I would then attach something similar to the cabana covering the rear.

Pat,
Please keep us posted on your barn door covering idea. I have another idea for the back that uses a plywood cover over the barn doors. But I have go to have the CT in my yard to better visualize and document my idea.
