Window a/c installed in wall help.

I searched and couldn't find a thread. I must have done something wrong as I know there has to be some threads on this.

I'm wanting to see how people install/mount a window unit directly on the studs of the camper. If someone could point me to threads of have some pics to show I would appreciate it.

Measure unit ~ mark hole ~ cut out ~ header off under unit ~ mount unit ~ Trim out

You are keeping it a big mystery which end of the country you live in so do you really need a fulltime dedicated ac unit?

Several of us midwesterners have chosen to place the unit outside the trailer and duct in the cooled air thru a dedicated vent or an open window. The unit can simply be placed on the ground in the shade under the trailer and a simple chute delivers the air stream in thru a partially open window. I use the AC for one or two of our ten to twelve outings a year.

mine sits on the galley shelf, not the best set up as it cuts into my galley space, but I didn't have to worry about how to mount it. I hope to mount mine on the tongue box in the future

If you want a permanent inside mounted A/C, and are willing to give up a lot of galley/storage space to do so. Here's my thread of such a method: http://www.tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=54945 The complicated venting, to enable secured hatch operation, is very optional, much easier to omit that and vent it straight out the hatch. But either way is do-able. I wouldn't even consider leaving home without one (A/C unit, of course!). But then, I'm old, and it gets real hot in Texas.
