my240z, Howdy;

Noticed that you're keeping the battery inside with you. Have you got
one of those 'jell' types or are you going to install a vent to get rid of the
hydrogen fumes while the battery charges...

I always get a kick of people worried about blowing themselves up charging the battery.

Please remember the battery doesn't produce hydrogen gas unless you're equalizing.
Even a 400 amp hour battery only produces one half cubic foot per minute gas.

Most folks have a very small solar panel < 200 watts and the very small battery < 200 Amp hours.
A 15 Amp charge controller is gonna have a hard time - to blow yourself up with that.

Not to say its impossible if you hook the battery up to 100 amp charger
while sitting inside smoking a cigar & your trailer is covered with a plastic bag :twisted:

But mostly since equalization only takes 2-4 hours , every 1-3 months....
if you just open the doors & windows ....
99.99% of the you should be ok IMHO

That's a good question Hank. I do not have a gel type battery but since I only charge the battery when i'm not in the trailer I really wasn't to concerned. Also the battery is inside a battery box which would be super simple to vent through the floor down the road if we use the trailer a lot. Thanks for the question.

Thanks for the positive feedback everyone. It's really been a lot of fun to see the trailer take shape :D

And even more fun reading other builds and copying (stealing) other great ideas.
