Aluminum sheeting in North Texas

Postby Fishingtomatoseed » Tue Jun 04, 2013 5:57 pm

Just thought I would share a place in North Texas that will cut aluminum sheet. This is a semi trailer repair shop www.dallastrailer.com I emailed them today looking for wide aluminum however long you need it and they came through. It is mill finish, .050 thick, 103" wide and up 700' long if you need it. They use it for the roofs of the semi trailers. The phone number is (972) 579-9027 and talk to Tom Henson. I do not know if they will ship. But the price for the aluminum is a lot less than what I have found else where.

I don't know what they charge in Texas, but here in Ca...that material in .040 is 12.86 a running foot. For those of you that haven't used full length material like that, it can be cut easily with a carbide blade in a circular saw, stick a sheet of styrofoam under it when you cut it. Doug

Yep, they have all you need. I think Vairman has used them in the past also.

I wish I would have found this while I was building mine and not used the ABS sheeting. Didn't notice it till I got home but the wind got under one section and took the whole sheet off the roof. [PENSIVE FACE]
