Gage, it is pretty interesting actually because the "subject" of the thread is actually "Lake of interest" haha I know that was just a typo but that is a hilarious coincidence!

Slow also did ask where everyone was and what they were doing and CarlLaFong posted: "I've been to Lake Superior, Lake Michigan, Lake Tahoe, The Great Salt Lake and various other lakes, big and small."

Hi Slow, I too noticed it seemd a little quiet. Sounds like everyone is too busy camping, not me though. One overnight so far, always seems to rain on my days off.

When I am on I spend most of my time in the build sections quietly admiring everyones work.

Some of our 'know-it-all' members just have to change the subject because they can't think of anything to add to the original subject. And now that I have most likely offended someone within this thread it's another reason I don't post much any more. People just can't take straight forward talk and I'm getting just a little tired of getting slammed for my post. :running man:
I don't know about anyone else, but I'm not offended in the least. Sometimes I just lake to have a bit of fun. If someone chooses not to lake me or my sophomoric humor, that's OK ;)

It's planting season. Lots of farm work to do. Only 66% planted, but there may soon be a window to get another 20% in. Due to the rain there are many fields in the area that aren't planted yet so I'm actually ahead of many of my neighbors. I did mud in parts of most fields. If I waited until the hole field was ready, I wouldn't have anything in yet. Today is yet another one of those rain days where I work on equipment. I have to get ready for the first haylage cutting. Normally it would have been done by now. My triticale is fully headed out, and should have been in the bag.

Maybe we are just tried of hearing about our hf trailer going to fall apart because of the bolts or the bearings or the cheap Chiniese steel. If i hear about we have a progressive dydamic this or that when the question was something else, i think I might go nuts. we get you spend a lot of money on your trailer, some can not or do not want to. Sometimes things are asked that have been covered before,
do not take them to task help if you want to or keep quite. Or maybe lock the whole forum, everything has been covered at one time or the other. This is a great place but getting to be a little less friendly by the day, let"s turn this around before it is too late. Now hope I not get banned. Tim

Cabin fever made the arguments and negativity, this winter, get pretty nasty. Thanks go out to the moderators for deleting most of that.
We all have problems. Nobody gets through this life without them. Let's come to this forum to lift our spirits, have some fun, and see & dream up new ways to do old things.

 Also, now that Facebook has been around awhile, some people are spending more time there and that may have taken a little "talk" away from here.

Yes, the forum has lost some of its luster but it is still one of the best things going around the Internet. I pop in and out of here a little faster, these days; but, I still check what's happening. I still try to look at the build journals; but, I wait until they are further along, I think because I've seen so many. And, I look at the "How-to" sections less often because it seems that it's all been said (...except for the innovative foamie section).

I, too, would like to see more positive talk and pictures. I think we can do that. We just have to ask and/or make the effort.

PS. It took me a while to figure out what Slow was saying, when he wrote: "lake of intrest on the forum."
... I think he meant Lack of interest on the forum.
However, it works both ways; because, if we "pool" our efforts and start posting more pictures and positive topics,
we'll have a renewed Lake of interest!

Though I'm new to this forum and have no past history beyond last fall I think Sharon makes a good point. There is more competition now on Facebook with several groups there that are very active. I know I've felt a bit torn in where to spend my online time. The thing is they are very different. The forum here is invaluable to me as a newcomer because it's much more in depth, nitty gritty information based because of the collective knowledge of all of you fine folks. The Facebook groups are more fun and supportive in an emotional way. They fill different needs so I've been making the time to visit both. Perhaps I spend a bit more time on FB because I found some glamping groups. Since there's not a category for glamping here I guess I'm like a moth to the proverbial flame. I definitely had an "I found my people" kind of moment when I found them there.

But like Slow said, I was really surprised that the forum wasn't flooded with pictures during and after the Dam Gathering. Since I couldn't attend I would have loved to have seen everything I missed out on.

Arguments and negativity? I must have missed that.

I haven't been on much in the past year myself because of other things...my trailer has been finished for 4 years, not building a new one anytime soon, life is busy and I have been spending a lot of time on a gun related forum. I have just started checking and posting again recently, I have missed it.

As Thomas has said, the South Central group has been a little more quiet than usual too. Who knows...

As I have read the forum this year I find that the interest and activity has been up and down. Slow you are right though about the postings, There is more new people posting now and I think that is great. sometimes if you look at the numbers of the people looking at the topic you will find that there is a great number of looking compared to the earlier years of looking and posting. To see what I mean you have to look for an obscure post in the uninteresting or a cold topic. I also know that there are a lot of lurking and thats fine. I hope that I will not offend anyone but The ones who have been on for a long time may be tired of answering the same question posed by the new ones who are not even letting us know anything for example, (post number #3) should I regrease the new hubs? There is a ton of information on the forum about greasing the hubs including a video of how to do it. it doesn't hurt to go back through the past forum questions to find the answer. Look through the build journals If someone is new Start a build journal like I have. if you have a question think it through and look to see if someone has run into the same problem before. You will find that the answer is usually already on the forum. I know a few don't like to post but it helps to know if you are starting a new trailer , old one , been parked in the woods for 30 years or just put 100 miles on it. I also have been on here and now having read the entire forum, know some of the personalities on here. Some are sweet and serene and some are technical that doesn't know you just wanted to know if it was raining :rainy: where they are and weren't asking about the solar flairs influence on the humidity or the the temperature of the raindrop before and after it goes through the final feet of cold air. I have a bad habit of reading and not understanding and jumping without checking it totally out. sometimes the older folk know this and contribute it to my being new and 62 and CRS but really it is because of lady Clairol.
This is a forum of people who have opinions and sometimes they are moody and have feelings that come out in their posts. I think this is a very important topic. The whole thing is there are a lot of people on the forum and everyone is different. lack of interest: I agree it is camping :vroom: season, lots are busy with families :picnic: some are tired of spending a lot of time on the computer and have moved on to other things and as for the ones who have been on here forever and are quiet, sh sh sh :shhh: if you are very, very, verwe quiet they sometimes appear if the right question is asked, but it has to be the right question????? and it seems you drug out a a few from beyond lurking with your topic so ........................ I am going back to working on my trailer and glueing!!!!! nice topic, Boy did I read it wrong  once again Lady Clairol....... Lake of interest, well I like Lake Simplicity and one of these daze I will find it..................... I think my pond is nice too. I think it is a lake. I like lakes that are calm and quiet. I don't really care for lakes with a lot of boats and boat traffic.

Slow, I think you have a good topic whichever one wants to handle it!!!!! :applause:

Pat & Vanna ~ Can I buy a "C" ?????

Boy oh Boy Mike you sure can sure draw this bunch to attention.

I have had the good fortune to be a part of this forum for about 8 years now and have tried to ignore the negative aspects of some of the postings. I try and conduct myself here the same as if we were face to face at a gathering. Approaching problems with reposts of old threads that have a cooperative collection of answers. My answer is not THE answer only my opinion. Perhaps only one of 2 dozen ways that a problem can be approached. At a gathering I have never heard a negative word about someones less than stellar build (like mine) ! Most folks are lavish in their praise and kind enough to not mention the rough edges. Let's make an effort to stomp out the negative and accentuate the positive.
Growing older but not up !
