One of the things to remember is they do not have to be particularly bright as it is not much distance (light varies inversely to the square of the distance), with the exception of the perhaps the galley. The reading lights in CR are the brightest but there are none that are dim and there are a grand total of 14. Seldom are there more than two on at a time.

When I started my build I used a semi flush mount led under counter lights
It produces enough light inside the trailer to see and move around.
its bright enough inside to work on projects but at the same time the light doesnt
bother sleepers. Ive left the lights on for a week or more at times and it doesnt
drain my batteries. The batteries went from 13.4 volts to 12.8 . I got these at home depot.
I'll post pics soon

You can't really tell how bright they are as these photo's were shot from almost 90 deg angle.
But I can almost promise tail gaiters will get a LED sunburn

This with the lights on - parking lights only.

The red light from the side marker "bottom right" is just one LED,
the rear are 66 LED's in Red and 30 LED's in white light.

I have another 36 Red - Orange LED marker lights to be installed.

OTTCT, Howdy;

Noticed the Patriotic Red White and Blue lights on the front of the new trailer...
may cause a problem with some Law enforcement types... they like to have the exclusive
usage of the red and blues and white may not be welcome in the out of the way location.
May want to call and ask the CHiP den nearest you... This may also be helpful;

Hey Hank

I'm glad you guys are on your toes.....

In General your 100% right !! :lol: :lol: :lol:
The lights will not be operational while driving "OFF COURSE" , more for vanity parking lights.....

In Calif it mostly says they cannot BLINK / FLASH - RED & BLUE ........
giving the impression that you are with Law Enforcement....

also if used to pull someone over ....then your in really deep Doo Doo !!!

It would be pretty hard for some Idiot to get that impression in my application,
that this is for anything other then vanity & decoration, party lights....
BUT....who knows what is possible ? I have the red white & blue above the side door also.

Thanks for the link....
I'll let you guys know if its illegal having to many lights...
when or if it happens ?

For another option, I will be getting more of these for my build. The price is right and the sales rep is very helpful.

OTTCT, Howdy;

Those spec's are for the MINIMUM requirements. Those that have a tendency to
load on the extra lights and chrome get called 'Chicken Haulers'. You see them all
over the hiways. For them the fine for an non-operational light wither or not it's
required is $25.00 per light.

I just bought an led light to see how it works.

1) it's definitely cooler...both in temperature and color. Very white, much like fluorescent
2) low power sure
3) light is harsh!

Cost is very prohibitive. Each one cost $10. I bought 20 good ol incandescent lights for the same cost. I'll stick to standard bulbs until the cost drops about by half.

I take 2 1x2 in L on upper wall and ring the inside and use warm led rope light from Lowes and lay in the trough. Probably never have to replace with almost no power draw even if inverted battery power and the ambience is truly amazing.

I just bought these at Harbor Freight for $3.50 each. They run on three AAA's. I'm carpeting the interior walls of my build and thinking about using them as interior lighting. stick a tab of Velcro on the back and stick them anywhere I want. They a little swing-out hanger hook on the back so they could be hung easily too.
I'n going to use them and play with them until I'm ready to begin wiring. Then I'll know if they'll work for me or not.
They're even bright enough to work as my outside lights, with a tab of velcro on the outside, next to the doors.
