We would like to wish each and everyone of you a very Nice and Happy
Easter from our family here in Finland..

In the Finnish Laguage it is - Hyvää Pääsiäistä ;)

OK, a potentially controversial post.

Why do we still call it "Easter?" Easter was the Teutonic goddess of spring whose festival was taken over by early Christians to celebrate the death and resurrection of Christ. I understand why they didn't try to end the celebration entirely, but I've never figured out why we never changed the name.

Having said that, a blessed and happy Easter and Passover to one and all.

...I got a suprise call from Finland today...it was Heikki wishing me and mine a Happy Easter...Heikki, it was much enjoyed and appreciated so to you and your from me and mine...HAPPY EASTER...hey Heikki, I forgot to ask, do they have an Easter Bunny over there in reindeer land (or an Easter Reindeer)

Yupper we do have a very long legged - long eared Bugs Bunny comin into the yard at night... :lol: :lol:

Been trying to get a photo of it but so far no luck... I think he,s camera shy... :D :D

These Finn Bunnies arent white ... long skinny - greyish brown ones..
quite tall...think these are the suburbia bunnies... :lol: :lol: They dont have the snow shoes as the bunny you mention...

Think these are equipped with sno skis... :lol: In Latin its - "Lepus timidus"
