Slow!

They make receiver-type hitches for almost anything (even my humble little 2000 Saturn Wagon) ... they bolt to the under-body through the floor with some inside straps to distribute the load ... pretty easy to install. Google TailerHitch.com or similar and do a search for your make & model ... it'll be there!

Believe it or not, my Saturn SL2 is rated to tow 2,000# with a 200# tongue weight (and I have!), so your Focus is probably rated at 1,000# with a 100# tongue weight ... you shouldn't have any problem putting your gear inside the TD and being able to pull it.

Go for it, Dude ... and get out & go camping ... ...! Now that you are an employed working stiff, you're gonna need it ... ...!

slow i pull a 1150 lb tear with my 06 focus we get 20 miles per gal trailer hitch i got on line i did wire it my self with it being a little heavy i did put a set of heaver springs on it

I pull a small 5 wide Littleguy trailer with a Toyota Matrix. It tows very well. Just google "ford focus trailer hitch " and you will find what you need. Including installation videos. I have used the etrailer.com site for all kinds of informaton.

You can find the hitch here: http://www.etrailer.com/hitch-2005_Ford_Focus.htm . There are several to choose from. They also have the wiring kit for plug and play wiring. Excellent service and quick shipping. Just make sure you are ordering the right one (wagon or sedan, etc.). What it fits is highlighted above the pictures.
