Finally running with all lights working

Postby southpennrailroad » Sat Jun 15, 2013 11:32 pm

For many, many years I have had a trailer and for the same amount of years I had light problems. Well I finally fixed that problem. I actually took advice from here and what solved my problem was the ground. That's right, I finally bought new lights and wire and connectors. How ever I did one thing more. I made sure that the ground was just like any other wire and no longer connected to the trailer frame but ran a separate white ground wire to the connector. I was so happy about this that I thought I had everything done and working that I was pleased with myself and started to pull away from the trailer when I suddenly wondered why the trailer wanted to follow me when I pulled away. Yep I was still connected and you guessed it I broke it. Good thing I left plenty of wire and spliced the new connector to the wires. Still working as it had been when I fixed the problem. Lesson learned. :)
