A scam reminder.

It is no secret that I have been looking for a waffle dog iron for a couple of years (as many of you also have). The other day, I did a google search to see if there was anywhere else I might find one other than Ebay. I found a store called fvstore.com. There was a listing for a waffle dog for $46.00. I had never heard of the site and the price just seemed too close to right. A few more searches turned up warnings about the sight. Turns out, if you try to buy from them, your money goes straight to China even though the listing shows the product to be in the US. Further reading revealed the scam. The sight basically does a copy and past of ended Ebay listings and draws folks in with a not too high not too low price. I just wanted to remind folks not to get tunnel vision when looking for that hard to find item. If you find what you are looking for, make sure you double check before you hit the buy button. My gut told me this was a bad deal. I'm glad I listened and researched more. They didn't catch this sucker this time.

Thank you for the reminder. I would also take it to your email also. I got an email from a friend the other day with a link that I thought was safe but it was not. His email got hacked. Just another reminder.

I get a lot of those . It seems they all come from facebook friends (I hate facebook). If you remember to look, the actual email address should show in parentheses after the name. If it does not match your friends email, just consider it spam. Especially if the boy is just a link with little if any other text. Have I said I hate facebook?

I have been receiving e-mails from people with links in the them. The e-mails don't have a message in them. Since I know my friends would not just send a link, I just delete the msg. I got an e-mail from the church secretary asking me if I had just e-mailed her. I hadn't e-mailed her since last week. I guess the hackers are making their rounds.
