Gallon jug of glue

Postby CampsALot » Thu Jun 20, 2013 3:57 am

I'm starting the 'skinning' process of the interior of my build.
I have a couple of gallons of titebond glue.

Are you using the glue directly from a gallon jug or do you put some into a smaller container as you use it?

Thanks

Warren

Get the gallon , put some in a smaller jar/can for convenience .... I’ve been using those Planters square plastic peanut jars... wide mouth for easy access.. top to keep them sealed when not in use ... been using them for T2, gripper , and the paint we used to paint the house and Studio (which is almost done ... )
BTW,we usually buy paint in 5’s , difficult to lug around...

I always transfer to smaller containers....the jugs are unwieldy, and I don't have to worry about contamination or drying out of abut jug because the lid wasn't closed

I kept mine in the original gallon jug. When working on certain projects, I would just pour some out into something else to use from, like a coffee can lid. :wine:

I use the small size TB2 bottle and my biscuit slot bottle, and just refill those from the gallon.

The roller applicator bottle just wasn't as practical as you might think, since I always ended up moving the glue around with a chip brush anyway, I just stopped using it to save having to clean the roller with each use.

When applying with a chip brush sometimes I will squirt a little out into a paper cup.

When rolling it on it goes straight from the gallon jug into the roller tray.

I haven't tried pouring it straight onto a panel then pushing it around with a card or roller, seems like not enough control to me.
