Do I need to run 12v wires through any type of conduit?

Do I need to run 12v wires through any type of conduit?

Wires will be in between paneling and studs. Do they need to be in any conduit or can they just be left as-is? This is 12V again not 120V.

Nope. No conduit required. If you want, you could run them through that split, corrugated loom that they sell at the auto parts store, but it's really not necessary

I am thinking of it just because there are places I camp or will camp where little animals like to chew on wires. They have to get up there so mice are not a worry but there is a little animal in the California mountains that like to eat or chew on brake lines. But also if you live where it shows and salt is around it can cu rode the wires along with the frame over time.

I am thinking of plastic conduit however that being said my present trailer which I have pulled though several states and many miles for the past 6 years have only had them break down once and I just went out and bought a new LED set and continued on.

It looks better but very very few folks ever look under your trailer. It will depend on you. The time and cost may stop me too.

Inside wiring is no problem, but I've had problems with my outside trailer light wiring being eaten by squirrels. Since running them in the corrugated split conduits that Carl mentioned I haven't had any problems.

For salt corrosion, get the tin coated copper wires made for marine use. Often they will come in cables with 2, 3, or more wires in a bundle. Of course everything has it's price...

As for conduit. I plan on using it, but it isn't required. It'll help with repairs and electrical changes in the future. I'll likely get 3/8" flexible conduit and use it. If I decide to use larger, I'll use 1/2" regular gray conduit, and heat it to bend it for corners.
