Pocket Change Campin Trip

Postby len19070 » Sat Jun 22, 2013 3:54 pm

It doesn't take much for me to go Camping. I go off on my own a lot more than with a group.

My son Nick and I have had a Father/Son Camping Fishing trip every year together since hes been 5 (hes 22 now)

Its always a great trip.

He's living with me now and we're working together and at the end of every day we both always have Pocket change. So we both decided to actively start collecting it and setting it away for Camping, fishing, outdoorsey stuff etc.

Well since May 1 we had collected $142.00.

What should we do with this???

We decided to go Camping, fishing. Decided on Promised Land State Park in Greentown, PA. Mid week.

It was great, fantastic weather, great site, very relaxing, saw some Bald Eagles but the fishing wasn't exactly what I wanted.

I wanted to catch a lot of Pan fish and bring home a lot of filets.

Not that I was disappointed but all we caught was BIG game fish, Pike and Pickerel. Still lots of fun but nothing in the Pot.

Nick and I have always had a great balance when it came to the catch. He would always get the Biggest, but I would always catch more....nobody looses.

It was true again this weekend.

But the real point of my post is this.

We started with $142 of FOUND MONEY.

Minus $60 in gas

$40 for the campground and $5 for bait.

We stopped at a Bar and watched game 6 of the NBA play offs and spent $25 and a $5 tip.

All tole, $135, for a great 3 days with my son and $7 dollars to spare.

It really doesn't take much to go Camping.

A great weekend with my Son for Pocket Change.

Happy Trails

Len

BTW, I think I'll squander the remaing $7 on Red Headed Women and Drink. :D :D

OH! and I came home with almost a half tank of Gas.

Awesome Len, that's what it's really all about. Getting out and enjoying, sounds like a fine time indeed. Thanks for the reminder

I love this story Len. I can't think of anything in the world that would be a better use for the money.
