Southern Appalachian Tearjerker's *SPRING FLING 2006*

Camping in the Southeast, including North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Missippi & Alabama, also Southern Appalachian, Georgia, Florida, and Magnolia (Mississippi) Chapters of Tearjerkers

Postby mincey » Thu Apr 06, 2006 11:52 am

I talked to the husband about this get-together, and all I got from him was a "Let me think about it". I think he is concerned because we have two long-drive (3 hr +) camping trips just before and just after this one. We are going out to the left coast next week on vacation to visit my family (Yes, I am a native Californian, but my husband is training me to be a redneck woman!) and I will work on his decision out there.

Keep your fingers crossed!

Hey Cheryl,
If it is any help pleading your case, I will be heading up to Parvin State Park in Pennsylvania for the Spring Fling hosted by the Liberty Bell Chapter of the TearJerkers ; May 12-14 . That trip will be a 9 hour trip one way and a total of 1000 miles round trip. :?
Then host our Spring Fling, that trip will be a whole 25 minute trip one way and a total of 30 miles round trip
And last on the list, is to head down to Moonshine Creek Campground, which is around Waynesville, NC. This will be for my Mom's birthday and is set for the first weekend in June and a 4 hour trip to get there.

I can guarantee that you will both have a blast, if you decide to make the trip up here.

What about us "The Non-Carolina Crew" types that started the "Root Trippin'" in the first place at the Hollar in the first place? Since it was technically me noticed the correlation of rampant root growth vs. alcohol comsumption and walking (stumbling) from the pickle palace back to our teardrops (Ross and me) among others     Since this term has gone international we should make a sticker for all of us. Although you should required to earn it by the "experience" of it all  :tipsy: :wine:

Sorry Woody,, I stand corrected,,, and yes the term should be generic for all "official" ROOT TRIPPERS,, but the bruises have to be documented by an "official" root tripper commitee, yet to be nominated and voted on,, Maybe we can take care of that at the "official" business meeting at Racoon "hootin" Hollar,,

Thats another reason you need to be up here next month,, heck ya might be the Grand Pubaa Wizzard and be the keeper of the cermonial tripping root,,

hope to see you and Ellen at the Hollar

Yep and here is ours, 1064 miles and about 17 hrs driving round trip to Glendale Springs. We had to miss last years because of family problems but this year we should make it. We have to see if there is any truth to the name of the place, "RACCOON HOLLAR" because I'm bringing the raccoon lady and her dutch oven. If you want to know the story ya gotta come to the event.
