One of the weak points of your particular trailer is the single arm tongue that only goes to the first cross brace behind the front frame brace. By lengthening the tongue, you are adding even more stress to the attachment points. The teardrop shell superstructure will not appreciably help this situation. You might want to consider adding Y-braces and beefing up your contact points at the two cross beams before you install your floor.

Thanks for the input and I agree. I have been worried about the trailer tongue attachment. My trailer tongue ends at the under bed box storage. I will be adding a 2x3 steel cross member (a piece of the older, shorter tongue) bolted through the under bed storage box to reinforce it. If that is not enough, I will consider adding side bars to make it a three legged tongue.

115 deg. outside today. A little hot, so I didn't get much done on the tear. Maybe I will get up at 4 am tomorrow, so I can work on it a couple hours while it is below 100... Naw, waiting for cooler weather. Now wou know why I want a tear. When the temperature hits over 90, I can hit the road and look for cooler scenery.

So I braved the heat for a couple hours this morning and got the AC roughed in and three cabinet doors done. Bonus selfie ugly mug shot too.

Heat has really slowed me down. I did manage to attach a few wires though. Why did I have to have an electrical system? I could have just stuck to camping with a flashlight.

Seriously though, is there anything wrong with connecting 110v to plugs and 12v to switches in the same junction box?

I would be careful with that junction box, maybe wrap some rubber tape around the backs and then install.
Heck, I would love to be building there in NV. Its over 100+ here but humidity is 90+ also. 5 minutes outside is torture.

More progress.

Added a lower side piece of trim to hide the trailer rail that was showing, patched up the front seam in the outer skin, and started putting in a tongue box. Profile is starting to look good!

Houston... We are energized! Finished shore power plug and 110v AC wiring today. Air conditioner works, microwave works, plugs work. GFI and breaker protected.

I got my deep cycle marine battery today too. Put that in the tongue box. Tongue weight now... Uh! Very Healthy. Need to finish out the kitchen cabinets and fill them to even things out again.

I think I will finish up 12v wiring next.

Tamed the rats nest. Got the 12 volt system working enough to run the fantastic vent fan. I don't think I will install anything else on the 12 volt system until the painting is done. Headboard cabinet to finish next then painting.

Finished installing and painting the interior cabinets this weekend. Well, maybe they could use some more touch up paint...

Started working on the hatch.

The first rib was the hardest. After that, cut 7 more with the first as a guide with the router. Then doubled them up for four 1-inch thick, by two inch wide ribs. Hope I don't get spring back...
