Did you ever get this wiring question resolved? I have placed my TD build on hold for a couple months, in the meantime I am trying to work out the electrical wiring. So there I was reviewing old posts when I stumbled onto this. I had not considered charging my TD batteries while driving down the road, until now. My Truck and TD are both equipped with Flat 4 Pin connectors. At this point, I assume it is easy enough to change them out, for simplicity. I have tried to visualize how, you could possibly connect a 4-pin to a 7-pin connector, but I just cannot see it

I am considering changing out the 4-pins on both vehicles to a 5-pin, and use that extra connector/pin for the charging function. What do you think, would this simplify my wiring?
The website guide http://www.etrailer.com/faq-wiring.aspxhas the extra pin dedicated for surge brakes of sorts. I have no brakes on my trailer. Thanks again
