Top trailer at the moment?

Postby kamperdog » Sat Jun 29, 2013 7:23 pm

So I'm back on the forums after a long hiatus. I bought a regular RV a few years ago as an impulse buy, Worst mistake I've ever made. I still have it of course (pretty much stuck with it- 2009 Kodiak 195 big POS) but I still want to build a little one. I'd prefer it be a standie. Anyhow, what are good trailers deals right now?

Sorry to hear of your experience on the newer trailer, unfortunately there are a number of people out there with similar experiences, my niece for instance. I'm a bit confused on what you are asking however. Are you looking for a pre-made chassis to build a standy on, or an older one that you can do a rebuild of? Doug

Im interested in the new, bare, prebuilt trailer to build a standie on.

Since those aren't the type of things that won't come in a kit form because of it's size, your best bet might be to check with some of the local type trailer shops. I've got one here in town and they will have a number of bare frames around. They all have fenders and lights on them which you may not want. Since the majority of these are built for utility type uses, chances are, they may be heavier than you'd like for a standie.. You might check with a local welder or someone in your area about a custom built frame. If you are remote, google up trailer shops in your local area, pick the largest town or city and search. Doug

I see some all aluminum utility trailers by a company called Wolverine. Anyone have experience with them?
