Personally I think this thread should never have started BUT seeings how it has I want to warn all of you to play nice. Any more inflammatory responses will be dealt with and the poster/s may find themselves taking a holiday from the Forum.

Cheers

I just think it's funny to hear people (not anyone from the forum, media types) talk bad about AKs and ARs. The legal ones are not full auto, and a person can do just as much damage with a handgun and enough clips. Limiting the clip rounds is crazy, one could just carry more clips and switch them out in less than 2 seconds. Ignorance annoys me.

It's okay, Paul. I didn't take what gregert12 said as an insult and I don't think anybody meant to inflame, even if red lettering was used. I thought some good points were brought up worth thinking about. :thinking: It's important to see every side of an issue.

But, you're right. It seems like every time the subject of guns is brought up, we end up with somebody hot under the collar. Let's hope that doesn't happen this time.

It never hurts to remind people of this point:
Please recognize that the laws and gun regulations in each country, state and even each county and town often differ. If someone who is "packing" doesn't know the laws for the areas that they are going to be camping in and/or driving through, they'd better better find out before they go there!

Howdy All;

Isn't there another area of the forum that this topic should be in?
Haven't read anything about CT's in this thread so far...
Free discussion of thoughts and ideas is a wonderful thing.
Topics, however should be allocated to there rightful place.

Yes IMO this should be moved to the off topic section.

That said. I 100% think all the gun control crap they just tried to tack on and probably will try again is complete crap. It absolutely amazes me how people blame guns for acts of people. Some one makes a bomb and blows up a building we blame the bomber not the bomb. Which BTW are already against the law to make or own but doesn't stop bad guys from doing it. Guy gets fired from where he works and drives his truck into the building. People don't freak out and say we should limit the size of trucks people drive. The list goes on and own.. But have some nut job steal a gun and shoot a bunch of people. Next thing you know we have all these liberals on their soap box trying to ban what every firearms they think they can slide by. Its so retarded. Bad guys will do bad things, PERIOD. Outlaw guns they will still have them for YEARS and probably longer since just like drugs they will smuggle them into this country just like they do drugs. So what you would end up with is the only the bad guys armed and law biding citizens at their mercy.. Remember when seconds count the police are only minutes away.. As far as crime goes if bad guys know for a fact their target isn't armed it makes things pretty simple if they want what you have.

And I love how some people think an AR 15 or AK 47 is some how so much more dangerous then any other firearm. It really shows their level of knowledge about fire arms. Automatically they have shown they are really talking about something they know nothing about. They are no more dangerous then any other fire arm. Just cause they look scary to some people doesn't mean they are any more dangerous then a could old shot gun or that .308 rifle like your grandpa hunted with. I don't even agree with the ban on automatic rifles. Some loon spraying away with an automatic would probably hit much less then someone taking aimed shots. Even more so when your talking smaller hand held weapons with only 30 round mags.. That goes in a couple of seconds at full auto. And at that rate with in a couple of mags your melting the barrel. A guy with a bolt action .308 on top of a building in a busy part of town could easy kill more people. Heck for what its worth a guy in a truck could easily do more damage driving through a crowd if his intent was to hurt others.

Now as far as us having the right to have what ever the government has. I honestly think that's a bit much. I don't really thing the 2nd amendment gives us the right to have equal force as our government. Even though I really think all the assault rifle stuff is bs. I really don't think everyone should have access to most of the stuff our military does. You start giving people grenades, RPGs, Gatling guns, ect, Then you really are giving them the means to do far more damage then they could with any thing else.. A full auto M16 or glock 18 is one thing a saw or browning M2 is a different story.

Moved to "Off Topic". Where it should have been, anyway.

Correct in the first point but I have to disagree on the saw/m2 since they are considered small arms and only outlawed due to the the 1968 Gun Control Act and NFA.

The 2nd Amendment is for small arms, not ordinance. (Even though I would love to own a tank, rpg, nuke, etc.)

I don't know what it is with you people up there, maybe they put stuff in the water. I'm locking this because I consider this last post to be nothing but confrontational.
