I got my canvas from duck too what weight did you get ? Seven was thick enough for me and it is heavy too. heavy enough it soaked up the glue but didn't stretch or bubble or move on the doors. It dried over night last night but..... YOU may want to take a couple of hours and try an experiment and check out the drying time with both Gripper and glue The Gripper takes longer to dry here. I tried it and the drying time between wood and foam, The glue won, stronger and dried faster. of course that was on the wood around the door opening, I don't know about canvas and foam for gluing......... If I had the luxury of time I would try it. I am coating the top of the canvas with gripper after I get to CRA, going to be interesting!!! I have one gallon of white and 1/2 gal of grey I am going to mix do you think that will be enough to paint and cover the whole thing ? Maybe I should get another Gallon  I will mix it before I go.

Mary , It “should” be enough ... :NC Good thing HDs are everywhere in case it’s not ... My canvas was #8 , pretty Heavy stuff ...
Just got back from the extensive shopping trip ... Got the tires , which were only 35USD each with rims (5.30 X12, 6 ply , rated 1045# each @ 80psi)... .. thought that was a deal  Got the 5 ‘er of Gripper (99USD) ... I should have enough ...now .. Also got some SS screws for the door hinges... 8) A bale of peat moss and a Huge bag of potting soil to re-do my container garden... Got the groceries too (finally) , and even managed to find a couple “Soprano” style shirts at the thrift store (with tags) ... 4.95 USD ,one Pure silk ... 8) I can’t believe people buying good clothes and never wearing them ...although I have some in my closet too ...

Back home , hot as blazes out ... will have to wait till this evening to do more trailer work ...

Hey GeeP,

The tires, $35 each??? WITH rims??? At Walmart? I had found 6ply 5.30x12 bare tires for $35 at online at Walmart. How / where did you find and buy yours? I really need to replace the tires on my utility trailer (which will be the base for my build). How 'bout a pic?

Mike , I'll get you some pics , can't get to the Studio cause' it's POURING down rain right now ... :rainy: Have to mention with taxes and their 2 dollar per tire "fee" (?)..It came to 40 bucks each ... You know they don't put prices on everything anymore and you have to guess what the bar code means... Could have been misl-marked...? :o They're famous for marking one price at the display and a high price comes up on the computer checkout ... Last week they had peaches marked 97cents/lb. .. at the register they rang up as 97 cents each ...
So you think I might have been taken advantage of huh?

And now ... the tire pic... Looks like any other tires to me .... as I understand most all the trailer tires are made in China now ... This is appropriately named “ Hi-Run “ ...

Thnx GeeP,

Did you order these online, or were they in stock? Can you tell me the SKU number?

Thnx, Mike

I think he means the opposite. That's pretty close to what I'm looking for as well, but here they're about $90 per wheel
Here is the Canadian Tire (think: Harbour Freight) product that seems comparable.

Even used Toyota Tercel wheels (4 on 100mm bolt pattern) with decent rubber are still $40 each from the local wrecker.

Even at generally lower US prices, $35 per wheel still sounds like a great score !!

Southwest wheel has that style wheel & tire for 58.95 plus gratuities and listed on amazon for 53.95 plus. I'd say you got youself a deal (unless they are flat on one side).
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.

Consulted the "Master Shopper" on this ... she said somebody probably mis-marked these...or it’s a computer glitch :o

Now this presents an ethical dilemma ... should I go back to WM and inform them of the mistake , or just accept the accidental discount ... ?

My mechanic buddy is coming over this morning , and if the weather isn’t too bad , maybe I can get him to help me install the tires and re-pack the wheel bearings ... and maybe even help do a little more canvassing ...I still have enough canvas for one top panel .. Hoping for good weather ... :NC The rest of the canvas is due Tuesday .... Hoping to have the outside done by next Saturday , the day of the “commercial” Foamie' fabrication brainstorming meeting at my house ... and Pizza... ( I think they’re really only coming over for the homemade Pizza)

Oh yea, that's a good deal on the wheels.
Mine are 12-4.80 and were $89 each on sale.
Regular price was $99.99 at Princess Auto.

Looks like you've converted WalMart to the thrifty side.

W, now I just hope they fit ... I measured , but that hasn’t always been accurate for me lately ... Must be those “senior moments” ...

Weather looking “build” possible ... only 30% chance of rain ... same as yesterday , where it poured like Crazy for half an hour in the evening , and then was gone ... :NC Have to “go for it” ... especially with help available ...

Took the tarp off the FS .... it seems the Gripper had done the trick  ... Areas that had been Grippered’ , were relatively dry and firmly attached to the foam ... Areas not primed were just WET !!! :o The Humidity here is Frightful ... :frightened:

Okay GeeP,

Where are you? Almost 8 full hours without an update! I've had time for church, shopping and errands, a nap, etc. It better be nearly done when you post next... LOL

Yeah, no kidding....I cut the rotten transom out of a boat and unloaded some foam dock billets (FREE !!!) for an unnamed future project.
My dear wife is going to have a cow when she sees 'Mount Foamie' under the deck
