Building a TD with 1/2 inch thick walls. A mistake?

I've started on my teardrop. So far it is going well, and I like the design I made.

Here are some images of it so far:

I've run into a problem. I bought 1/2 inch plywood because they were out of oversized birch in that thickness. I'm having trouble finding hinges/seals for the door and hatch. Seems like everything I find is made for 3/4 inch ply.

Does anyone know of a solution for this problem? I considered lining the doors with strips of 3/4 inch metal, or putting some kind of 1/4 inch wood paneling on the whole inside.

Corv,

We used external hinges and flat seals as the door(s) are external mating.

What I did was frame it with 3/4" pine 1"x2"s and then insolate it with 3/4' hard foam, then add interior wall of 1/8" birch.
