Downriver SE Michigan CT Build

Postby Jkindy » Fri Jul 19, 2013 1:14 pm

Hello from SE Michigan!
I have always wanted a trailer to camp in, but want more than just a camper. Dual purpose was the goal.
I recently picked up an enclosed 6X10 Roadmaster for cheap. I plan on hauling to Trade Shows that I sell at and use it to sleep in rather than waste money on a hotel.
I love Teardrops. The looks to the versatility and simplicity of them. But as I get older I like to stand up too. And for what I got the cargo trailer for, I'll use it.

Looking forward to sharing my build with you.

Welcome to the forums. I think you find the Cargo Conversion area full of idea and picture. If you are going use it for selling stuff as well might be a good idea to have removable bed or at least folding one. And not that many builtins. I know how it goes. after you sold all your stuff you buy that one big item that will not in the trailer because you made the cabinets to big.

Take a look and around, have fun and keep us informed on what to decide.

Kool Pic. Is that you chilling in the woods?

Thanks Junkboy999!

I have my eye on some designs, that is what brought me here.
My main purpose for the trailer is to haul gear and merchandise. Everything else will be secondary to that. It has a V-Nose where I am building some cabinets and shelves.
We used the CT this past weekend and set up cots to sleep in. 6 ft wide makes for a tight fit with one of the XL cots I have. But with cots I can fold them up out of the way during the day. Especially when its just me. I also hammock camp and prefer my hammock over my bed or any cot. So I am building a stand that I can fold up and carry with me.
Pics of the build coming soon.
