What about pre drilling some tiny pilot holes ? I see we’ll have to use almost exact length screws or punch through the front .. :o Not much working room ... The screws seem to fall into a groove around the edge ... is that right ??? :NC

Some pics of same ... Please forgive the foam dust pollution , try as I may ,it’s still Everywhere!!! :frightened:

If you size the screw so that, when assembled in the wall, the tip just touches the frame +1/4" or so, you'll get plenty of clamping without going through the front. It's the sealant under the flange that actually holds the window in, not the screws. You should have 1/2-3/4" depth on that slot.

Thanks , we’ll take care getting the right length screws, as none came with these ...

Gosh , looking at those windows makes me think of getting “Rain caps” for over the windows and door ... Saw some nice ones made for TDs... but all have to be screwed on ... That’s not going to work on a Foamie' without “prior planning” ... :o We have no “hard points” ... Wondering if the automotive ones held on with foam tape would work ? I have some smoke tinted ones on the pickup and they’ve been stuck solid for years ... Hmmmm? Guess it depends how solid the surface it is you’re sticking it too ...Paint doesn’t sound that solid eh ?
The rain water’s going to be pouring off that round roof like a waterfall .. :frightened:

Well, the paint is all that is really holding the ones on the truck as that is what they are stuck to. The only thing there is that the surface must be smooth. If you had some epoxy around, you could form drip caps from your scraps and leave a clean (no epoxy) flange to bond with gripper. Or glue them on with marine adhesive/sealant like 3M 5200 or Sikaflex.

Take some foam. fashion some drip rails for above the windows. Use TB2 or Gripper to glue them in place. Then use some canvas scraps to cover them just as you covered the rest of FoamStream.

On each end of the drip rails, have the rain shunted out of the mouth of a gargoyle. ;)

GPW... Bogo has it right... Think of what you're intending to divert... Water... Can't be all that stressful to the trailer... Individually or in a steady stream. Foam with tb11 and you're in business!

Hmmm ??? That’s a Great idea !!! Foam ...yes that would work ...
Just to make that easier , I could cover it with a lighter canvas or even a bed sheet ... no stress eh ...

Here’s one we carved for the Foamie’#1 but never used it ... a little touching up with sandpaper and some covering and this would work fine over the back door .. :D The bottom is undercut sloping forward to direct the rain off the door ...

What a transformation a little sanding makes, huh?

Looks like a part from one of your RC planes!

Yeah I love sanding and shaping this Blu foam ... and also , like you , was thinking of some RC “flying trailer scraps” ... Got enough for a nice FAT USAF UFO ( http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthre ... af+ufo+gpw ) at least in unusable (for trailers) leftovers ...

Got the Drip Cap covered ... drying now ... and already today it’s threatening Rain ... again ... :rainy:

You are doing great!!! I had thought of the drip guards made of foam but dismissed it so I will be watching how yours work.

I will have a question for you later today on grits, Probably tonight. I have to take pictures.

Mary , I’m excited and think these will work great !!! Should huh ?

With the help of my little hobby heat gun (400F) was able to get it all covered and dry , front and back ... Ready to glue on , caulk , and Gripper ... :D

I’m ready for questions ... hope we can be of help !!!

Ps. Just a thought ... several glue soaked bamboo skewers pushed through the drip cap and trailer body sure would help secure it better to the wall ...

Cut the 36” Al hinge in half , making two 18” hinges .... then hung the door ... and it fits as expected ... :P Tried the drip cap over the door (pinned) ... that fits too ... :D
