I've never doubted or questioned McM/C service or quality. My first introduction was over 15 years ago thumbing through a paper catalog at a buddie's place. Since then I've been even more impressed.
Value isn't just based on price as anyone who has done even a little e-shopping knows. Getting what's ordered quickly and as described along with a reasonable price sets value to me. With the price of gas and the value of my time I've made e-purchases for things that I could have bought in town. IN the end, I had more time to do something more valuable with my time...which is sometimes priceless and sometimes not worth a dime
Grainger's allowed me to setup an account when I had my business. I got things at published price....no discounts. When I talked with a buddy of mine who worked for a company who had a Grainger's account he told me that he got the company discount for his personal purchases? HUH?! I felt like a chump since we were both end-users. The next time I was in Grainger's I asked the counter guy about some sort of discount program after relating that story to which he himmed and hawed and reluctantly gave me a tiny discount. I found other suppliers when I had to rather than Grainger's.
