Thanks. I'm having fun building it. Yes I did have to cut a hole approx 3" diameter with a saber saw. No probs at all. I will need to put some insulation underneath the CT around the base to help keep the aluminum from getting too cold in the fall & winter. May get a small plastic bowl and fill it with spray foam then push it up over where it protrudes thru the floor. I'll secure the bowl with wood screws and call it good.

Thank you for that information. I'm looking at doing something similar for the support leg of our table so it stays in place in case I forget to fold the table down during travel.

If you look closely at the previous page photos in my build thread showing the table you can see the buckling up of the linoleum. Very disappointing. But that buckling is now rearranging my thoughts and I think I will simply remove the linoleum from the galley back to the aft end of the CT, sand the floor (again) to smooth it out, and install bamboo 3/8" thick flooring. My Brother-In Law installed it in his house and did it all by himself, well he and his son. He is very happy with it, it isn't all that heavy, and seems durable enough.

Any thoughts or experience with bamboo flooring from anyone would be greatly appreciated. Sooner or later I will get our CT conversion right.

That really sucks about the linoleum.

I didn't use bamboo but I installed simular in my house. It was easy install and has lasted really well. Only concern I can think of is the typical expansion contraction problem that caused you linoleum to buckle. The laminate flooring is designed to be free floating so it should be fine as long as you leave expansion room on the edges. When you put the floor trim on just don't apply any down pressure that would keep the flooring from moving. I would like to use laminate flooring in my CT but I think my Harley would scratch it up and if I had any leaks it would damage it too.

This one is actually one that doesn't unless there is a prob. Not like my old one did. It marked its territory every where it was parked. I enjoyed the harrassment from all the rice burners. They used to follow me just to pick up and give me back my parts that kept falling off!! If ya can't laugh at yourself go home.

Got ya Bro! My HD didn't always leak. Originally it was bone dry wherever I parked it. Of late, when the oil tank is full and it hasn't been started in... oh maybe a year... by God it does leak a few drops. Not bad considering I bought it new in 1986 and it is still going strong, not to mention it is actually worth more today than the day I bought it. Can't argue with that... well I guess one could but it would fall on deaf ears.

Here we are, on the road again… another Walmart parking lot overnight stay. This one in Fernley, NV. We stay only in the most exotic places.

We are now in Napa CA. visiting Christi's Mom & Dad, in-laws, sisters, nephews, daughter, son-in-law, and grandkids and enjoying the beautiful climate of a Napa Valley spring... even if it happens to be in EFFing California. Been shooting lots of bird pics while here and doing, new to me, video of birds thanks to the Canon 60D DSLR camera. The HD video from the 60D is truly incredible.

The CT, while nowhere near finished, does its job giving us comfy quarters anywhere we are while on the road. A true home away from home in stealth mode.

Back in Boise as of July 4th.

We have long been searching for a better vehicle to tow our CT as well as our Jayco TT. Found a nice Ford F250 Lariat Super Duty with Triton V10 up in Salmon, Idaho (God's own country) for a superb price. The owner met us in Challis, ID to knock an hour off our travel time, not to mention my best friend and his wife live in Challis so it gave us time to spend a few days with them. It's a 2005 model year and is loaded with options, to include SIRIUS satellite radio, built in trailer brake module and factory installed 7 pin trailer connection heated leather seats, everything adjustable six ways from Sunday and so much more. The V10 does like to consume gas but it has plenty of power, unlike the Jeep Cherokee.

Now we can be on the road to Shambala, or anywhere in the USA or Canada we want to go with no fear of over taxing the Cherokee as we have experienced in the past.

Oh! And if you haven't figured it out yet, I like red cars, tucks, and Porsches, i.e., my red 1975 Porsche 914, my red Jeep Cherokee, and now the red F250. Maybe I should have been a fireman... no. Their red isn't my red.

Hey Don!

Missed ya Bro!! Glad ya scored good on the Tow Rig!! You will enjoy it greatly. That thing will pull both trailers so well you might forget its back there. The 75 914 is a cool ride. Lotsa fun in the twisty's and open road.

I finally scored on a ride that the wife's back can handle. 01 Ultra Classic with stage 2 upgrade, 26,000 miles. Can't wait to get it up in the mountains this fall.

Sorry if I missed your fix for keeping propane out of the living area. My Puck also carried the propane tank in an inside cabinet. The floor of the cabinet was perforated with a number of holes and covered with screening.
