If you'd rather spin it around to get a feel for it... try spinning these two files...

P.S. all you need to view the wrl files is a free Internet Explorer plugin called "Cortona". You can get it here... http://www.parallelgraphics.com/products/cortona/ :frustrated:

Wow! The Minibago has been immortalized. May I offer up my original design ideas for further refinement?

Fenders - definitely Jeep style, definitely.

Interior cabinets - attached to inner bulkhead, pass through with doors on each side 2' high x 2' wide x 5' deep if measuring from the side. Inside the tear looking to the back, a cabinet that is 1' deep by 1' high by 5' wide (spanning the footwell) with a shelf 1' below. (Can you show the extend-a-table under that?).

Front windows - umm, eww! Should be a single, I think.

Front tongue box - 4' wide by 18" deep tucked under the "bay window" overhang.

Galley - I really like the side by side doors that open. They should wrap around 6" towards the front to stop at the 1' deep x 1' tall cabinets that span the width of the galley. I love the idea that you could attach your stove shelf (and stove) to the right hand door. It would fit under the counter when closed and would extend your work area when the door is opened 180 degrees. The left door could simply have a fold down table that flips up for extra counter space. Then, when opened, you would have from left to right 2.5' of counter space attached to the door, the 5' galley with sink built in and cooler under then another 2.5' of stove and counter attached to the right hand door. I likes my counter space. Does this make sense or do you think the fabrication difficulty outweighs the advantage of increased galley space?

Not that I'm particular or anything, but nobody ever accused me of not having an opinion, in a Rainman kind of way.

Mike,

BTW, though the prototype is too crude to show it. My plans have a 6" radius from the leading edge of the bay window up to the roof. Do you think the sharp crease looks better?

Here are some "Jeep" style fenders for when you get started.

Marine stores and Northern Tool sell them.

Never ever ask permission,,, ask for forgivness after its all over,,,and ya finished pride and joy is in the garage,,, If she kickes ya out at least ya got a place to stay,,,, sometimes they just will not listen to reason,,,, go figure,,, ohhh have it packed and ready to hook up before ya show it to her,,, ya might need to make a fast getaway

asked for forgivness at least twice and didnt get it,,,,,

The problem is, Chip, that I already have to ask forgiveness for a certain Festool purchase. That may take a while. And in this case, it ain't "in for a penny, in for a pound." I think the safest tack here is to first build her something nice with the new tools and then explain how easy it will be to build the trailer. Actually, its not the trailer that she is concerned with, its storing it that bothers her. Frankly, I could use the buttering up time to get proficient with the new tools.

GregB,

JEEP Lover here. Image

I never thought about devoping a JEEP Teardrop design. Hmm, you might be on to something. I'm intrigued. The drawing above is a bit rough and "square", but I'm seeing the light.................!

A Teardrop for JEEP enthusiasts! Has it ever been done before..........? Hmmm!

Check my album for a "rounded off" version in my drawing. The mock-up is too rough. Also, do a search on Mike's "Rugged", it looks like it belongs behind a Jeep.
