During that fateful trip out west in the 70's we traveled nearly every weekend. One weekend we went to Mt Hood and picked ripe huckleberries, and by the next weekend, on Mt Rainier, they were a little fermented... when we fed them to the chipmunks they really liked them!
Special place there, Mt. Rainier. Sorry your wife wasn't feeling well, but I am still envious of your trip!

It's a good thing that you weren't too far from home. It's always more comforting to be home when you're sick. ...Hope she's better soon!

I think I can...I THINK I can...I THINK; I CAN! (I think I did it!)
Camping is better than building, given the choice.... Like you said, that's what winter is for! Very nice trailer. That's a major size refer you got there!

My brother found it at a garage sale for $20! Takes up a fair amount of galley space (that and the AC) but with all the storage up front it makes up for it. Going on a 6 nite trip next week, really looking forward to it.

WOW! Just hafta congradulate ya on a mighty fine looking camper! I am in the process of finishing our 6-1/2 x 12 Campster. Wife & I have been chompin' at the bit to go campin'. (Life gets in the way sometimes) Should be ready for the Hoosier Fall Campout 9-11 thru 9-13. Only 100 miles away or so, good shake down run. (Color tour)Then take the grandkids trick-or-treeting at the Ohio race track 10-26. It should be "campable" by then, finish it in the winter & spring. Your camper looks pretty large for only 5' wide. But it sure is cool! How tall is it inside? I'm at about 5'-4" with the dropped floor. Gotta show this to the wife. She'll love it!
Thanks for the koodos! It's actually 6.5' wide, just enough for a short queen size bed inside. With the drop floor I have just about 5'11" headroom. I'm 5'11" tall, so my head just touches. I wanted an other inch, but when we built the frame I ended up having to run supports to the frame from the tongue. In the last 75 days we have spent 33 nights in it! I'm about to start work on the Galley, saw these old cabinets on the side of the road with a free sign on them! Will save me some work building drawers.

I got a closer look at the cabinet doors, the handles have a push button on them that releases a latch. They are very deco looking. The cabinets are trash, but the doors and drawers are in great shape. The cabinets are really heavy, made out of 3/4" plywood. With the latches I thought maybe they were out of an old trailer, but being so heavy I can't imagine. Just the hardware alone was worth stopping, I thing they will clean up good with a little elbow grease!
