Hey Brian and Sandi - how was your Studebaker event? Are you back home safe and sound? I just spent the weekend with Pinecone in Astoria, OR at Fort Stevens State Park. The first day there we had this really damp mist and fog that got everything wet. My sister and daughter stayed in the Pinecone, while I was in a tent. Boy were they happy and dry!

We were debating how to heat the Pinecone for fall/winter outings. As space heaters are not really an option...we thought "why not an electric blanket". I'll have to see how many amps an electric blanket draws for the times I have to use the battery. I'm sure there's forum discussion on that.

Danny - you da man! Thanks for the link! Have you used that bunk warmer? Does it work well? 3 amps is good! I have a battery that will last 50 amp-hours, and as time goes on I will be replacing the lamps onboard with LED.

Hello Greg,

I too have a Three Feathers teardrop, but from looking at your photo and looking my teardrop I see that you have the Pinecone and I have the Tumbleweed. I bought it used and the old owner called my teardrop a "cabochon" - it actually states that on his receipt - but of course there are no cabochons listed on the Three Feathers site. I think the difference is my rear kitchen hatch is curved, where it looks like your hatch is flat. Do you have the front storage box? The previous owner of mine added an aftermarket storage box to mine. It looks like your teardrop has two doors, mine only has one, but I have that same small window on my door.

I'm liking the trailer a lot. This is my second teardrop, years ago I had a Hunter HU-4 Shadow teardrop, which I sold. Unfortunately, it started to have water damage to the sides of the kitchen area and to the floor board at the rear of the trailer. Water is the worst enemy of a teardrop, my advice is to inspect the seals constantly on your Pinecone as I'm doing with my Tumbleweed. Overall, I do agree that these Three Feathers trailers are pretty darn solid and tough.

Oh, one last thing. Have you looked under your trailer at the frame? Is the frame asymmetrical? If you were to look at my trailer from the front hitch, I have a bar that runs the length of the trailer on the right side (if you split the trailer in two halfs , left and right side, it is about 1 foot from the right side of the frame). I haven't figured out why they did this, as the frame is very beefy.

Hope to see you around. I'm in the Seattle area of Washington, just north of you.

Don't "should" on yourself, there are plenty of others who will "should" on you for no reason. Accept what you did and move on. Life is too short.

Greg

We have been using them for years.
They warm up in less than 30 minutes and cycle on & off during the night.
We have to turn them down to 1 or 2 after we get in bed or you can get too hot.
They originally came in bunk, Regular, & queen.
Since the recession they only make the bunk size.
