Newbie from Texas!

Postby vanderhoof57 » Wed Aug 14, 2013 10:24 am

Hello everyone! I'm recently retired and looking forward to building my first Tear! I'm married with three grown children and have a love for camping. I'm no stranger to the little camper lifestyle. Growing up in southern Arizona my grandparents lived in Flagstaff, my dad and i would go camping with my grandfather in his little camper in the mountains of northern Arizona and go fishing along the Verdi river, what memories!!! Now living in Central Texas and having a difficult time camping in a tent (Texas is known for the heat) i'm looking to upgrade to a tear. I know i will gather important information and maybe some new friends by this forum and look forward to learning some new things and maybe helping others with some of my knowledge. Master mechanical license, electrical, solar and plumbing. Business owner and operator, retired from the HVAC industry. :D
I would feel more optimistic about a bright future for man if he spent less time proving that he can outwit Nature and more time tasting her sweetness and respecting her seniority.

Welcome to the Forum
Good Luck with your TD build.
You are going to love it!
Both the build and the camping.
We just started camping in ours in May and have now slept in it 39 times so far this year (going out again tomorrow).
And the people! We have fallen in love with every tear dropper we have met so far. What a wonderful community of people Tear Drop campers are! :applause: :applause:

Welcome to "teardrop-ing" and tnttt.com!

We'll be sure to take advantage of your knowledge base.

If you haven't already swing by the South Central section to see area gatherings. The two "biggees" are LCG in October and Beavers Bend in April.

Take care,
Tom

Welcome! Wish you lived closer. I would gladly help you with your tear for a little help installing the AC unit in mine. Have fun with your build!
