Coleman Keepers Campfire come on in!

Lanterns, stoves, etc... anything old!

I can see on the fount that the decal was once in the proper place. It might of slid out of place as being boxed up, or years down the road if someone cleaned it with too much alcohol. I’m just glad I got a nice red case. This lantern is a 6-64 so I don’t feel too bad stealing the vent off it and placing it on one of my 5-64 B-Day ones. Now I just need a Green case and a 228F B-day if they were produced that month.

Been keeping my eyes out for my first Colman. Found this today for $45, but wasn't sure if it was worth it, so I passed (it had a reflector/handle installed also. There was also a nice looking 200A for $59, and also passes. Guess ill keep looking!

Ya that is just a 228F made 1964 - 1973 pretty common but very good runners. you can get them cheaper. I think I got my for $25 on craigslist. don’t forget to check the dates on the bottom of them. Warning check for fuel and a tight fuel cap before looking for the dates. :)

My 242 has a little brother!

Postby Martinjmpr » Thu Aug 22, 2013 9:14 am

OK, so I'm relatively new to the Coleman thing, but as I posted here in another thread, wife got me a nice 1941 242B for father's day.

viewtopic.php?f=49&t=55814&start=15#p1018474

Anyway, she was in the antique store the other day and saw another old coleman. Snapped a photo and sent it to me, I said "get it!" and she did, brought it home to me last night:

It's a 200A, fairly standard from what I've seen, but it's in really good shape! Date on the tank is 1952, August or September (can't remember off the top of my head.) Everything appears to be intact and unlike my older 242B, this one holds pressure!

Anyway, I've already printed the user manual from Oldcolemanparts.com, and look forward to getting this baby up and running! :)

Then I'll work on the 242, which is likely to need some TLC to get it going.

Nice lantern. Plus you have a black band. Only made those one or two years. Makes it special. :applause:
