Newbie from Colorado

Postby rdwanrow » Fri Aug 23, 2013 11:55 am

Hi, my name is Dale Wanrow, and my wife of 37 years is Beckie. I live in Brighton, Colorado. I found this site while I was researching how to build a Teardrop trailer. What a great find. This site is filled with useful information, (a lot) and a chance to meet some very interesting people with like interests. I reviewed the Silver Beatle build thread by Tom in DFW, and all I can say is WOW, that tear is awesome! What a fantastic build and attention to detail. His build set the bar very high. I can hardly wait to get a chance to review another build. I have built a few things, but my skills are nothing compared to his. I have built a couple of houses, a barn, a waterbed frame when we were first married, a car, and a few more things. I'm not a welder, so I will have to get a store bought one, or have someone build me one. I will have to explore the options. I am amazed at the content of this site. I can spend many hours browsing that I could become lost in time, and overwhelmed with info. Thank you, thank you for this site.
My interest is to build an antique style unit like a Kenskill 5X10 model. I'm on the tall side, 6'-5" and 265# so I need a little more room. I have a 34 Ford streetrod that I built, and plan on using it to pull the unit on a bucket list tour on Route 66, to many Streetrod National meets throughout the country, and different road tours.

I hope to meet many of the members on this site, and view many more builds.

Thanks for the chance to introduce myself and review the info on this site.

Dale

Welcome Dale, and yes I read the whole forum mostly anyway and became quite confused with all the information and was in awe over the different builds which are filled with talent. You will reach the place where you start your build and then decide that 2/3 's done it is time for your second build that is when you know you got the bad teardrop build bug.
for some reason I think you might be one of those too. at least one build and the forum crazies!!!

Welcome !!!!

Hi,

I'm living the Rocky Mountains southwest region. I'm getting to old to do much tenting, so here comes teardrop 101. I'll be asking a lot of questions so .... :)

Nice to see a fellow Street Rodder becoming a fellow Tear Dropper also!
Good Luck with your build.

Don't forget to come and join us at the Eastridge Campground near the Royal Gorge the 27-29 of this month for the "Last Gasp" gathering! You can tour all the teardrops and tiny travel trailers that will be there. It doesn't matter if you have your camper finished yet or even started, just come on over and join the fun! If you can't make it for the weekend, try to come over Saturday for the potluck dinner! This is our 8th gathering and it gets better every year!
