Mattress Suggestions

Postby MontanaTeardrops » Tue Aug 27, 2013 6:27 pm

Hi All. I have been looking for a 3" Queen Mattress on the internet and cannot seem to find one. Can someone suggest where to buy one, or do I have to cut a 6" mattress down? I found some 6" ones, but I would have to sell my kids to buy one.

I got my 5.5 inch queen size foam mattress from Ikea for $130. 3 inches sounds a little thin to me.

We bought ours from the same place and we are very happy. 4" HD foam queen size mattress, and it has been plenty thick for us.

Here's a tip, they offer custom sizes but they are much more expensive then getting a standard size. Your best option is to get a larger size then use an electric carving knife ($8 from Walmart), and trim to your specifications. It cuts quickly and cleanly through it. Use a board or straight edge and you will have a clean cut.

I bought some foam from a local place called Tempe Sales. They specialize in different fabrics and hardware. It looks like they are more of an wholesaler for upholstery companies. They had all kinds of thicknesses of foam pads. I got 4" thick stuff. So maybe you can find a place like that locally..
