Doors "sucked" open?

Has anyone had problems with thin doors being "sucked" open by the airstream while driving?

The Ventear will have very thin doors (1/4" marine) and I am worried about them flexing out at the corners.

I don't think you have to worry about them being sucked open. There was a discussion around here somewhere about rain actually being drawn into the camper through leaky door seals due to negative pressure in the camper while driving. But I can't find it right now.

I'd think it would be to your advantage to put some sort of a perimeter of wood to help stiffen the doors, doesn't have to be really heavy, but something that will "beef" up the outer edges and give you something to sink some screws into for your hinges, latches etc. It will also aid in the installation of the weatherstripping. I'm not a great craftsman, just a wood butcher, but my doors are 1/4" luan with a frame glued to the edges for strength, I've never had an issue with flexing or getting sucked open. gallery/album.php?album_id=3189 the inner skin is cosmetic.

I drove all the way from wichita KS to Beavers Bend OK. with my door unlocked, the key in the door. I did not notice it untill I did a u turn on a small road to go back and look at a bulletin board. I noticed it when my electric heater came flying out and hit my tongue box. Luckey the power cord got hooked on my light cord and did not fly away.

Now I have had my crank up top vent open it self and almost get torn off by passing truck on a two lane road. If I try to leave it a bit open, the passing trucks tend to suck it open. I have to close it tight and put a rubber band on the crank to a small nail to stop it from opening.
