Coleman Keepers Campfire come on in!

Lanterns, stoves, etc... anything old!

I saw this really cool wood lantern case from far away at the flea, my heart started to flutter and I got really excited. I started walking fast to get it and a guy butted right in front of me and started trying to buy it. :x

They were haggling over two dollars when I said " I will give you $15 if there is a lantern in that box". The seller said "SOLD".

This is what was inside.

Image

Its an almost perfect 242. There were also vintage mantles and an old box of matches made from wood. 8) Also the original directions for the lantern were in the box too.

This was the first time I have seen one of these in the wild. Its cool but no butane is made for these any more. I cannot decide whether to give it the chop and steal its parts or just leave it alone and look at it. Opinions ?

Image

By the way its vent is perfect, just as it looks. I paid $5 for it.

This next one is a unmolested 1950 220d, original glass. Not super good condition but it will be a great workhorse. I had to give $8 for it.

All the screws are untouched.

This is a random 242 . not sure where I got it or how much I paid. Have not messed with it yet.

Another parts 242.

Really the only thing missing on this lantern is the screw in the gas cap.

These two are really cool. The one on the left is a oddball military, and the 200 is a black band. This lantern was given to me by Maureen from this forum at the Dam Gathering , thanks soo much. I cleaned it, de-rusted and painted the band. It works perfect and has a good home. Thanks again Maureen!

I have not fired the military yet, but I do have a new generator for it from Cigar Mike at oldcolemanparts.com. :applause:

Hay, that 220D from 1950. Is it and A or B or one of the rare ones with the month number? I am looking for a 09 1950

I cant remember if I have shown this one before. Its a 70s Avocado Sears. I cant find any Sears stuff in CA so I have a forum member who looks for deals on Sears stuff for me. Thank you very much for this awesome lantern. Its a big deal to ship a lantern so I really appreciate it.

Image

I have not fired this lantern yet but its going to be very cool. The tank is perfect inside. 8)

Here are the last three for now. The first is a homemade Christmas that I put together from parts. I think its backward on the colors but I like just the same.

Image

This is a junker I got for $2. Not sure of the particulars. I pretty much buy any lantern I see for $5 or less.

Image

For the most part I do not buy 70s 220 any longer. I have given most of mine away or gave them the CHOP for parts. Every once in awhile I will buy a $5 buck 220. I had a weak moment and gave $8 for this one. They make good gifts and bait for new Coleman addicts.

Isn't the vent the same as the 200A vent?
Want to sell it?
There was one for sale up here on craigslist, but the seller wouldn't respond to my e-mails

No I dont want to sell it. Its growing on me. And yes the vent, cage and glass are the same as the 200A.
