Converting Cargo Trailers into TTTs

Bruce

Thanks for posting picture, it's not possible from my iPhone or iPad :? :?

I'm hoping for 20 deg , big bonus if your right - that would be even better.
Right now I'm picking up 50 deg over ambient temp - with panel glass 2.5" high.
It would be 8 air changes per minute , 480 air changes per hour at full power.

Will post update tomorrow night

Bruce

I'm all set up for the test , picture on my blog again.
Even installed a quick Anderson connector & a 10 amp fuse - did not have a 7
But it's all on #12 wire
This morning the roof temp started at 50 deg - exterior temp was 60

Stay tuned & I hope your right :worship: :worship: :worship:

Earlier this week I got into some heated ARGUMENTS.... With some folks claiming that leaf spring axels were far superior "off road" then torsion alex trailers. ZERO evidence was offered to support that argument :x :x

They were positive they were correct but did not want to waist their time finding the overwhelming evidence posted all over the internet to support their argument !! I have not been able to find that claimed evidence either ?

Below is a trailer & a person who did a 2,500 mile , much of it off road with a Torsion axel :D

http://www.fourwheeler.com/how-to/1008-4wd-little-guy-lil-rough-rider-teardrop-camper-trailer/

Please verify that the rough rider has a 2,200 lbs rubber Torsion Axel

http://www.golittleguy.com/teardrops/models/rough-rider/

If someone has some factual evidence of a test comparison , please let me know ?
Maybe a trip with 2 trailers on the same rough road ?
Has anyone has a torsion axel break in half off road ?

Here is woodalls opinions, looks like 80% for torsion

Thanks Jerry

Unless you're running washboards in the Baja, the torsion axle is the winner:

My insulation 2 layer & cabinets are slowly being installed
My walls are now almost 4" thick , well at least 3 3/4" :D :D
Should hit 90-95 in the next few days so I wanna see what happens
By getting as much of the second layer as possible installed this week.

So the battery fan will exchange the air in the entire trailer in 10 minutes?

Hey Mark519

Long time no hear :D :D We need some updates on your trailer & those lifts.
yea it's 100x over kill - just wanna make sure I will get every last drop of hydrogen gas.
I know how you guys worry about some stuff blowing up.
That fan is just for the battery when equalizing , just the hole alone is more then enough.

I'm gonna install some more fans, maybe 6- 8 - 10 more 120 mm computer fans, one can never have to many quiet fans.
Or for the same reason too much solar. 8) 8)
When not needed I can just seal them off
Last time the 12" under floor fan worked great - but was a pain to have such a large hole in the floor.
And not sure if road splash water would short it out - but sitting in my driveway it worked great.
It works much better blowing cold air up from the floor vs just sucking hot air off the ceiling,
Don't know why - but it does ? the floor fan did 1200 cfm

This may help if you haven't already seen it: http://www.rolls-battery.com/pdf/pdfs_europe/BatteryVentilation.pdf

Seems like that much air exchange will affect your AC? You could use a resister to slow the fan if you want to adjust it.

I finally got a bed I like. 3" 19 ILD talalay laxex over 2" 36 ILD foam rubber. Everything else was too soft (bottomed out) or too hard and 5" is all the space I have for storage.

Hey Mark

Thanks for the link , this is what I have been saying for so long.
My 400 amp hour by your chart would do a max 5.2 cu ft per hour & I would need to equalize for min 3 hours
AND , my trailer would need to be 100% air tight .....
Only then could I reach 4% to blow myself up with.

In the last year - I still have not equalized my batteries yet , they charge to 12.85

I have actually found one can park in the full sun up to 80 & not need any AC -
The trailer can be cooled with fans really great, it feels like 76 - my limit for comfort with fans.

Aside from the humidity - may only need AC from 1-4 pm in dry climates.
Don't really like humidity - so i won't go there to often

I'm sorta 100% sure if one parks in the shade & has some nice floor fans sucking from under the trailer , they won't need
AC unless the temp goes over 85 deg - no insulation is even needed.

Jerry

PS glad you found perfect bed, I'll have to start lookin once build get done at my wall space is only 76" vs 80 required for a queen.
