Hello, I just found out about this forum over the weekend. Looks like a great resource! I ordered a 5x8 from Northern Freight this morning and I'm hoping that we can get started on the camper next week. Our plan is to use it on the road out west next summer. Between now and then, we're looking forward to using it in the woods here at home. After years of car camping, we're looking forward to more comfortable accommodations. Neither my wife nor I thought that getting a full RV or a big trailer was a very good idea; this seems to be the perfect thing for us. As long as the 13-year old Subaru we'll be towing it with doesn't go out, we'll be doing just fine!

Best wishes on your build. I'm towing my tiny trailer with a 1994 Acura Integra. So far it's doing fine. I've driven it 7000 miles since June on my trailer's maiden voyage and a second trip to the Pacific Northwest. LOL Everyone laughed when I said I would use my everyday car as my tow vehicle but so far so good

I lived in Hot Springs for a couple of years and we make at least a couple if trips each year to vacation in Arkansas.

If you haven't already, check out the South Central section of the forum. There is a big gathering in Louisiana in October and at Beavers Bend in Oklahoma in April. Please camp with us regardless of having your teardrop finished or not.

Welcome to this great site Ray You have some great groups of people down the with the La and Tex and Ark I was down there last yrs and made 3 camping trips met some of the nicest people you would ever want to camp with. Well you better hurry if you want to head out west next summer it takes long time to build a tear to the finished stage.

You don't need a new user name to go to Southcentral just scroll down to the bottom of the forum and click on the Southcetral part of the the forum.
They're a bunch of great folks down there. We've been camping with them for years.

We'll probably be at either Malmell or toad suck in late Oct on the way home from LCG. Don't know which we love both parks.

Thanks, I found the South Central chapter- I was thinking it was something having to do with the Tearjerker forum. The trailer arrives this week- I'm looking forward to seeing what we come up with!
