No, I don't think it's akidney because it's higher than he kidney area. And, I feel it worse when I bend at the waist (in any direction). (it's like the old joke...patient says "Doc, it hurts when I do this"...doctor says "Well, don't to that")
Last night, I couldn't lay on my back, so my wife gave me one of her darvons and I relocated to a recliner in the living room with a heating pad on my back. This was about 9PM. I watched TV for an hour, then fell asleep. I woke up at midnight, the back felt better, so I went back to bed and slept until after 7AM with no pain. Not sure which did the trick, the darvon or the heat...maybe both. This morning, I can still feel it, but not as bad as last evening.
