Hello, my name is Rodney.

Postby rodneyup » Mon Jul 29, 2013 8:03 pm

I am building my first Teardrop trailer. I have been scoping this site for weeks looking at all the cool trailers that everyone has built and wanted to join the club. I've been camping for many years and I currently have a heavy niagra pop-up. Well, I bought myself a new jeep and realized I couldn't pull the pop-up safely so I looked around and discovered the Teardrop. I love these things! But I ain't lovin the price. I finally took the plunge and started building one for myself. I will post pictures as I build so everyone can put in some suggestions that might help me. thanks again for reading and I hope to conversate with you sometime.110358110359110360110361110362110363

Hey Rodney

Is your last name Rude? are you from Australia? ha ha  ha ha You’ll have to google him if you don’t know. Or Maybe not google him if you not into RUDE Aussies humour.

Welcome to the forums and the Teardrop heavenly madness. Look looks you have a great start there. Tell us a little bit more about you. where you from where you like to camp. There might be an experienced TD build in your area.

Keep us posted and it might be a better idea to start a Build journaled in the build area. No rule against on in this area but a few years down the road and someone looking for that nice TD you built because of that one clever idea you had, and they can’t remember where they saw the build log. You can link this newbie thread at the beginning of your build thread to tie it all together.

Again welcome and just have fun

When you jump in, you jump right in the deep end. Great work. Where are you located?

Looking good Rodney

Hey what is the size going to be. The big opening in the sides are windows, is the small one for an AC?
Inquiring minds want to know.

I am in Dallas, TX.

The smaller opening is for a smaller window. I am going to install a ac unit on the tongue and connect it by way of a tube for the air to enter.
Yeah, I tend to throw myself into projects, otherwise, they would never get done.
I am staining it today.

Hello Rodney and welcome the the madness.
In viewing your photos it looks like the door is smaller then the window. Is that an optical illusion?
I also looks like you have done some of this work before. Are you a carpenter?
