Wood stove video

Postby Rainier70 » Sat Sep 14, 2013 2:40 pm

While messing around I came across this video of a CT with a small wood stove installed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5KPRGK_xqo

Although it isn't something that I can use, I thought it was interesting. I know that there are a number of both wood and propane stoves designed for boats etc that work in small spaces.

And even these with an oven that are built by the Timberline Sheep Camp Campers. http://sheepcamps.com/rv-services/rv-pa ... ne/stoves/

For some reason the YouTube video link didn't post the first time. Maybe now?

I thought about a wood stove in mine before going with propane. Still think the stoking with wood and ambiance would be cool. Nice for heating up a pot of water or keeping food warm. I used to have a small wood stove in a 12-16 wall tent I "lived" in seasonally. I also heat my house with one, so there's a certain affection about burning 4 cords of stacked wood for the winter! I'm glad I have the propane in the trailer now though. Clean, easy, no ash, and keeps burning.

Its getting really close to "heater season!"

I don't think that I would like the mess of a wood stove though in a CT. Propane is so much easier and cleaner. It has surprised me though on how small of a stove they can put in a tent, or sheep camp, or cargo trailer.

Until converting my CT I wasn't really aware of how many little stoves were made for hunting blinds, boats, tents, and ice shanties. A lot of ingenious little heaters available.

I still think that the Dickinson is the top of the line though.
