I set the canopy and side tent up as a test today. Not as easy as I hoped, but easy enough. The canopy legs are square, with flat plates to sit on the ground (won't fit thru the eyebolts, so I'll have to wrap a bungee cord around them to secure to the trailer), with a hole in each for ground stakes. The side tent is bigger in actuality than the stock photo makes it appear; lots of room inside, and it attaches very easily to the canopy. The only problem I had with it was putting it back in the supplied nylon bag...I gave up trying, and put it into an extra sports bag my wife had. All in all, I think it will work out fine. The location of the (right of shelter, opening right to left) door flap is such that I'll put it with the streetside door opening into it, unless I need to put it on the other side, which would shift the shade slightly forward of the ideal orientation (which is over the whole roof). My doors are so far forward, it causes this offset...but, on a more center-mounted door, it would pose no great offset problem.112329112327112328

I kept looking at it then one day they had one listed as used for $85 with free shipping. It was brand new the box was damaged. Not high quality to be sure for that price but I figure with gentle use and care it will last awhile. It actually is nicer than I expected for that price. I didn't put the awning on, this was just a test fit and it actually fit pretty good. Now I don't have to fight the dog for the pillows.
I hope the clicky works.

These things are $30.55 now! May need to order a tube of sealant. For $30.55, you'll have enough change to buy some sealent. :D

What a mega-blessing!

That had to have been the quickest sale! If you click on the link for the Texsport The Lodge Square Dome Tent now, they are back up to $186.09. I checked my amazon order and I bought a new one for $30.55. I even clicked on the link in the receipt to make sure I was getting the tent and not some side screen or panel. I'm telling the truth; it's the whole car tent! I did a screen print as proof (I yellowed-out the confidential parts).

Thank you LORD. :worship: I'm going on church tent camping trip in November. I'm sure the tent can be put to use!

Amazon usually is a "stand-up" kind of business...I also have a screenshot of the price. I thought about buying 3 of them, but decided not to (That would have cheaper than-a whole one.) Next time, I'm going to follow my 1st mind. 8)

This might make a good rain/shade cover for the side door or hatch and it's around $49

Yea but it says "Sold By Best Service Stores" on the receipt. Amazon won't say no but Best Service Stores might. Let me know how things work out for you. My fingers are crossed.

The seller cancelled mine yesterday. I filed a complaint today.

HOWEVER, I just did another search on "SUV Tent" at 11:53 central standard time on 9/20/2013. Someone has them for sale even today for $30.63. The $157 price has been crossed out and $30.63 is in place. Go see for yourselves. Pls get a screenshot of it and save it!

Maybe a hacker is at work on Amazon.

I was in Academy this afternoon, and grabbed one of the Instant Canopy Shelters for $19.95, marked down from 49.99. It is the wedge-shaped one that attaches to the side of the ez-up type shelter. A couple of years ago, I caught one of the Target brand ez-ups for $26, so the whole thing cost me under $50. Can't wait to try it.

I picked up one of the Academy side tents as well. For $20, I don't think you can go wrong. The quality is on par with the walmart backpack tents. I wouldn't try and live in it, but it should work pretty well a few times a year. I hope to develop a means to attach it to the side of my TD, but if not, the canopy could work fine when I need that extra space.
