How many watts do you all think it would take to keep up with a car radio playing an I pod . I dont use much more juice than that.

My car radio uses about an 1 amp-hr so it wouldn't take much to keep up. A 30 watt would do you and power your lights too.

30 watt Panel

Maureen at the Dam Gathering had one of these Goal Zero battery and solar panel: http://www.amazon.com/Goal-Zero-29005-Escape-Adventure/dp/B004OHOGW8/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=2NUI4OVB2Q69I&coliid=IPXD147U2C78N

I thought it was intriguing. If I only needed 12VDC for lights and a fan I might forgo a battery and just use this instead.

It's very expensive for a 15 watt panel and a 12 amp-battery but its packaged nice. Remember, a battery only lasts 4-5 years at best so you'll be replacing it every so often.
