A question on Henry's 663 and dry time?

I'm planning on hanging my aluminum sides using Henry's and was wondering how long before I could fit-trim with a router? I'm guessing 70F and 30% humidity.
A day? A couple of hours?

The directions say you can reposition within 70 minutes, so it should hold after 3-4 hours.

I think I'd contact the company before trusting carpet adhesive to hold aluminum though...

I looked up Henry' instruction sheet. I can't believe the dry time will be the same with carpet since the porosity isn't there with aluminum.

I'm not trusting the carpet adhesive to hold the side sheets forever - that's the trim's job - just to hold it in place while I run the router around it. :smile:

I understand now.

I'm not familiar with the latex products, but with solvent based, the glue sets pretty fast and hods very well.

If you don't need the repositioning option, good old contact cement placed in a few dots along the edges will have you trimming in 15 minutes.

Just be aware that the carpet adhesive will gum up your bit and bearing. You will have to stop and clean it frequently.

Thanks Carl. I just "hung" my 1/4" wall pattern on and I think I'll cut the side aluminum using it as a pattern (duh!) -hang them without glue. I can clamp through the door openings and hatch edges.
