Studying the nose of the trailer , the layout , we’re thinking of using an overlap on the chipboard to make only Two panels , one each side , the overlap will be glued in the center and is ~ 6” so it will be even stronger and more easily attached ... Otherwise we have to cut 6 individual panels ... AARGH !!!!

Here’s a top view ...

How is that going to look? Could you make foam strip in a H pattern where the panels slide into the slots of the H, then the strip glues to the wall?

Mike , I’m just trying to keep it Simple (KISS) and it will look fine for me ... ;) Lots of other possibilities too ...
Here’s the two pieces glued together to make one panel ... TB2 and Newton clamps ...

BTW, the overlap ended up at 3” after we carefully re-measured the front , again ..

Plan view looking down thru the lower single curve of the front wall, I take it?

First panel done , second under the clamps (bricks ) drying .... The seam is hardly visible from one direction so will be used on the inner wall that way ... TB2 and this chipboard seem to love each other , producing a nice tight seam , completely dry in a few hours ... Once it’s trimmed to fit , we’ll use the mix (or maybe the Gripper since have almost a gallon left ) to waterproof it before painting and fixing to the wall with screws... Simple ... and less weight too using only 4 out of 6 sheets ... ( two left over for the Next project ! :R   ) 18# instead of 28# ... 8)

You know , working with this thick chipboard only makes me think of one thing ... IF, you wanted a really tough outer skin in certain places .. (just considering now ) You could glue the chipboard to the foam (TB2 , and it will dry quickly) Put glass cloth over the exposed edges/corners/etc. (TB2) , waterproof the board (the Mix) , then/or prime and paint it ...It would result in a really Hard TOUGH skin (like plywood, maybe better ) but lighter and no chance of de-lamination or rot , and a smooth “no weave” finish 8) ... To save a little weight it doesn’t have to be used everywhere, but that’s a possibility ... Having no “grain” ...damage ( just IF) would be localized only to the area of frozen turkey impact ...

Got the panels test fit ... At first , just placed the chipboard up against the ribs and scored a line around the top .... then added a 3/4’ line below that to compensate for the ply rib thickness . Cut it out with a utility knife , having to score it several times for the cut ... Popped them in , and they fit ... exact :dancing ... This pic is with the panels just pressed into place ... seams facing the inside of the trailer , thus invisible ... Looks Good to me... once painted I’m sure it’ll will go largely unnoticed ... ;)

Thanks Mike ... painted it should become “invisible” , all just another part of the trailer .. That’s the idea really ... ;) Especially with everybody focusing on the “Moon roof” ...
Now I’m wondering if I shouldn’t just Glue in those panels , instead of screwing them down .... No real reason , I can think of, to make them removable ... Everything else is glued in ... With no screws sticking out (or having to purchase finishing washers) it would just blend in with everything else for sure ... That would be Cool too eh ? ...

Thanks Lune’ .... with this done , that just about wraps up the FoamStream build , except for the little bits we’ll add as we get a little “Practice camping “ (backyard) to better see what we really need ... With the Good Fortune of not having any Storms this season , we have so much extra time now to “fine tune” the interior ...adding all the nice little things like drop down table/desk, maybe another cargo net ,door trim (moulding ) and some "trim strips" made to fill in the “rough” looking areas on the rear wall by the Mini Galley ... Ever evolving !!! ... Now if I can just get it licensed...

GPW,
as always the Foamstream is an impressive trailer. I almost added 'for its intended purpose', which is true enough, however it is plain and simple an Impressive Trailer! The design and your execution continue to be an inspiration! Hope you continue to only 'practice camp' in it!

Are you going to continue the night scene by painting the lower section with a camp fire theme? Nice warm glow , some logs and a rock ring?

I cast my vote, "aye".

Ned, Thanks !!! I hope that too !!! ;)

KC, that’s a good idea , but “nay” ... just plain ... however , I did think of a pumpkin patch scene with some old bearded guys wandering around in the moonlight, harvesting the crop to go chunkin’ the next day ...   maybe a bit too "seasonal “ ... :R

Well, on the way to the grocery we stopped at HF and picked up another cargo net (never enough expanding closets eh ? ) ... and across the street to the HD for some finishing washers , just in case we resort to plan #1 on the front panels .. Now to decide ... :NC

Finally getting a little cooler here , 89F today ... might have to get out my Winter clothes ... :o
