Wiley Windows rather than a roof vent for ventilation?

Postby grantstew8 » Tue Oct 01, 2013 12:21 pm

Your help and advice regarding a BBQ on the tongue was awesome so I've another question for your expert advice.

I've put both roof skins on and I could still add a roof vent. Now given all I'm concerned about is condensation, unlike some of you lucky folk who have to worry about heat, I live in Scotland, it's cold and wet for most of the year.

My concern is that it rains 70% of the time here so I really don't want to make a reasonably large hole into the roof. There are fancy expensive-non-solidifying-goo that make perfect seals, I know.
If I put in wiley windows into both doors, with drain holes for the rain (thanks to the previous posts) do you think that would be enough ventilation when you're sleeping overnight if the windows left open an inch or so over night?

My preference is the wiley windows.

Thanks again for all your advice

Put a fan that either sucks in or blows out one of the windows that way you get some outside air into the camper.

As you know from following TPCE, I'm including a large computer case fan mounted on the bulkhead that will pull air thru a chase from under the camper. I will have the option of cracking the side door windows and/or the roof vent.

If you don't want to cut the roof, you can put shrouded vents (some people use soffit vents like these) up high and down low, and use a case fan to help circulate air.

Thank you. I've a silent pc fan kicking around and will install it in a window or wall.

Great help as usual !
