Can someone recommend a propane powered camping stove for me

Those are some nice stoves you guys suggested... It's kinda hard to tell from the pictures if the top grill rests on top of the stove, or if the grill fits into holes.

The problem I have now is the grill is in a hole. Let me get a snapshot of that for you...

I have that same stove and haven't had that problem. Is the grate bent or warped from heat? If so, that may be why I don't have that problem. Mine has only been used a few times. Are there holes for the middle legs? Seems like there should be. If not, maybe they forgot to cut them to the right length. If mine wasn't buried in the garage I would get some shots for comparison.

Check the BTU's. Most of the new ones don't go past simmer, I need one that goes to 11.

I have all but given up on propane. I usually use a wood stove when hiking (google paint can wood gasifier), and just ordered a big one for home. If it works as advertised (supposed to put out 50,000 BTU), it will also be the stove for the camper build. And add a kelly kettle for quick coffee or tea.

I will carry pellet stove pellets for both the luggable loo and backup for the stove when everything is wet.

Pellets for the luggable loo? How does that work?

Pellets disintegrate (and expand) back to sawdust when they get wet. They don't absorb odors as well, but if you are using it mainly as a female urinal it will work fine.

And my favorite!!!!!!!!! I do all of my stir frying, bacon, sausage, and other similar stuff at home outside (remember this is So. Cal.). Easy (garden hose) clean-up, no vaporized grease to settle around the kitchen and house, and best of all, no lingering smells. I have one very similar to this one. What I like is that you have three controls and can meter the heat way down or way up depending upon your needs. Yeah, it (like some of the ones above) isn't pretty but it's easy to clean, puts out min-max heat, and easy to control with the three valves. I have both propane and white gas. I use the propane as a backup. I have to rebuild my white gas ones. each came from a garage sale $5 The propane was bought new. All coleman.

I have a Brinkman same as yours in one of my trailers and never had the problem. However, I suspect enough weight on the grill might cause something to happen. I moved the Brinkman to another trailer and had to replace it. I finally settled on a Coleman Triton series stove, almost identical dimensions but higher rated burners, and the best controls I have found on a propane stove to date-can actually almost simmer stuff. If possible, putting a backplate under the hole(s) on the Brinkman might solve things. The Triton is not anywhere near me and I can not check to see how the grill sets over the burners, but Sports Authority sells them and you could look at one.

Mike, I just checked mine. The grate had a little heat warping that was causing it to rock a little, but not as bad as yours. A little bending stopped it from rocking and it sits rock solid now. Of course, that will only work for a short while and only so many times. It is worth a try. I wonder what a replacement grate costs.

I went and looked at a Coleman Triton over the weekend. Mechanically it looks good. And from what I'm hearing from you guys, it should be a good stove. I especially like that it can do the low side (simmer) as well as the high side (boil).

Back from the first shakedown trip with the new tear. I'm quite pleased with the Primus Firehole 100. It's much quieter than my propane Coleman, really puts the heat out on high but simmers much better than my Colman. Plus the bottle is out of the way (in the drawer below the slider). I don't know if you can see in the photo, but the grill bars are about 1/4" thick.
