Yeah, even with a mostly foamie hatch it will need help. Maybe gas springs somewhere along the inside, maybe a Coleman lift on the back corners of the hatch. Done right a Coleman would pinch the sides to stop splaying

I have most of the skills and tools needed for the build. I still don't have the time or money. My big stumbling block is the trailer. Tagging a custom trailer or old popup can be a real headache here. The custom trailer shop right down the road closed shop last year :(

Titles can be a pain some places. We're lucky in MO just have an inspection place check the lights and title as an home built. On the lifts I just went back through the thread and Starleen had a good idea with the straps over the walls but I'd use 1/8" aircraft cable instead it is more flexable. In fact I'm thinking about trying to retro fit that into my present WW this winter.

I'm going to mention a subject that never gets considered in these drawings......sight line.

Putting up walls between baths and bedrooms and such only shrinks the overall feeling of size. If you look to your right and see a wall 10" from your face, you will have the feeling of being in a box. But if you turn your head and can see all the way to the other end of your bed, then the feeling is openness and roomy. Even half walls will help.

If you plan to live in this ttt for 3 months, you need the feeling of room.

Mike,

Looks like you have to duck your head lower to get below the top half of the dutch door than you would to get under the edge of the roof when it's down. I can easily get into my Alto with the roof down. Just have to watch my head.

FWIW.
