The hitches are built and installed and.....

Postby darrellbeck » Thu Oct 03, 2013 5:38 pm

the blue car is wired for the trailer including a power line. The white Tiffany is still to be wired, but I will probably get that done yet today. My intentions are good anyway. A couple electrical tools, the only (I hope) ones I HAD to have and didn't, are supposed to be here this afternoon. Tomorrow I plan to get the metal and start welding, hoping that with a little luck, it will turn into a 5x10 trailer. Then I will use the trailer to go get the wood stuff I need. Good plan, huh?
I want to thank everyone who did photo's of their build's, as well as explaining the things they were doing, and putting in the bad along with the good. I absolutely know that those people's stories will save myself and others work and money. I have read so many that I no longer remember which ones I got the most out of, but I gained something from all of them. Thank you all.

Hi, Darrell:

Does this mean that you have built your teardrop in just over a month? That's awfully fast! We never even saw a picture of it!

Good luck on your maiden voyage and have fun camping! :vroom:

I wish that was the case! But no, I haven't even started the trailer yet. That's why the welding starts tomorrow and I then go get the wood.

I read back and think I see the cause of the mis-understanding. Tiffany Classic is the brand name of one of our cars, not a name for a trailer.

You did stay hitches (plural)....

Well, good! We'll have the pleasure of watching you build. We love the pictures! :applause:

By the way, be careful of that WFCO converter. Check it and try it out well before you install it, if you can, especially since it is not directly from the company and, therefore, does not have a warranty. Some people have had trouble with them, including me. (My second one is working fine, knock on wood!)

Looks like a case of putting the horse(s) before the cart (is built)! Twice, I nearly ante-d up to buy two hitches for my HHR and wife's Cobalt, but put it off. Glad I did, because the "cart" ended up too heavy for the "horse(s)' to pull safely. I would've had $400 worth of hardware and wiring that may never be used. Just my worst-case; others may not have this scenario happen to them!
